Two outstanding golf courses (Baja Mar & Marriott's Real Del Mar) are within 20 minutes. At our condo, you have use of the private tennis facility, private beach, and our oceanfront recreational complex (swimming pool, hot tub, billiard room, etc...). The resort maintains the flower garden areas, palms and bougainvillea that spill over paths leading to the ocean. Explore the abundant sea life and numerous tide pools and the seasonal appearance of migrating whales. One visit will show you why this has become one of Baja's premier resorts. The condo views the Coronado Islands to the Northwest.
According to legend, Calafia was the Queen of a mythical island named California . In 1773, Friar Francisco Palou established the first division of the New and the Old California. Fra. Palou divided the territories of the Franciscan and the Dominican Missions by putting the border exactly on the hill in front of Calafia, making this site a very important landmark in the history of both Californias . Today, Calafia has become a magical and spectacular Historical Village and tourist destination -- the only one of its kind in Baja California . Calafia's complex includes the hotel with its panoramic views of the ocean along with many terraces, bars, bazaars, discos, five restaurants and four banquet rooms. Calafia's master architectural plan includes the Plaza de las Misiones, with replicas of facades of 12 Missions from the Missional Camino Real. At the "Bahia del Descanso" (The Bay of Rest), you will admire the fantastic Beach Club built as an old fortress, the Christ of the Sea Chapel, and a full-size replica of the Spanish Galleon "Corona Aurea." Calafia welcomes over 3,000 tours and more than 250,000 visitors a year from around the world enjoy Calafia's beauty and warm hospitality.
